# 2026 Select NRL League Heroes Insert Guide

> Select's first NRL product since 2012. Every insert ranked, retail vs hobby differentiator, Golden Treasure corrected, and State of Origin Predictor status.

Category: NRL

Select hasn't made an NRL card since 2012 — League Heroes is the 14-year comeback. The set runs 16 insert types across retail and hobby; here's every one, how to tell them apart, and the one thing most collectors have wrong about Golden Treasure.

## What inserts are in retail packs — and what are the odds?

A retail box ($142.50 RRP, 36 packs) has a Luminous in every pack. The hits:

- Luminous — 1:1, unnumbered silver PET board; NRL + NRLW
- League Heads — 1:3, cartoon throwback style
- Game Breakers — 1:4, clear acetate; NRL + NRLW
- BANG — 1:6, superhero comic style
- Colours Diecut — 1:8, die-cut team colour
- TRYumph Red — 1:18
- Gladiators /599 and Mercury /450 — 1:36 each (box hits)
- TRYumph Gold /80 — 1:432
- Golden Treasure /80 — 1:2592 (~1 per 72 retail boxes)

## What's in hobby — and how do I tell the two apart?

Hobby boxes ($250 RRP, 18 packs) use different stock and carry exclusives not in retail. Fastest single tell: flip the Luminous over.

- Base cards: retail = white artboard; hobby = silver foil metal board, heavier and shinier
- Luminous back: retail = plain silver, unnumbered; hobby = gold back, numbered /725
- Etched /185, Playmakers /110, TRYumph Black /50, TRYumph Black Sig /50 — hobby exclusive
- Mercury /450 — retail only; Mercury Sterling /95 — hobby only
- TRYumph Gold /80 and Golden Treasure /80 — retail only

## What does Golden Treasure actually redeem for?

Golden Treasure is retail-only, numbered /80, and drops at 1:2592 packs — roughly one per 72 retail boxes. The front features the club's marquee star — Cleary for the Panthers, Walsh for the Broncos.

Redeem it and that star isn't what arrives. You get a 5-card numbered set of young and emerging players from that club — the Panthers set runs GTPP1–GTPP5 (Tago, Talagi, Cole, Jenkins, McLean), no Cleary included. An early community review guessed 17 cards; confirmed wrong.

## Which players should I be chasing — and what have they actually sold for?

Nathan Cleary is the most-chased player in the release — TRYumph Gold /80, TRYumph Black Signature /50, Playmakers /110, Mercury Sterling /95, and Golden Treasure /80. Two verified GT sales: the 2026 Select NRL League Heroes Golden Treasure #GT12 /80 sold for AU$942.45 on eBay on 2026-04-11, and for AU$890.64 on eBay on 2026-04-13.

Reece Walsh's GT draws strong community interest — no confirmed sales, anecdotal only. TRYumph Black Signature /50 is the rarest auto: hobby case hit with Cleary, Tedesco, Mitchell, and Haas confirmed. Snap a photo in CardLoft to ID which insert you've pulled.

## What's happening with the State of Origin Predictors right now?

NSW won Game 1 (22–20, Accor Stadium, 27 May); Queensland levelled in Game 2 (44–24, MCG, 17 June). Series is 1-1 — Game 3 decider at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on 8 July 2026.

Both states' predictor cards are still live. Retail SoO Predictor Gold (/115) and Hobby SoO Predictor Platinum (/60) follow the same mechanic: winning state redeems, losing state expires on 8 July.

## FAQ

### Is Golden Treasure available in hobby boxes?

No — retail-only, numbered /80, at 1:2592 packs (roughly one per 72 retail boxes).

### What does Golden Treasure actually redeem for?

A 5-card numbered set of emerging players from that club — not the star on the front.

### How do I tell a hobby Luminous from a retail one?

Flip it over — hobby Luminous has a gold back and a serial number (/725). Retail is plain silver and unnumbered.

### Are the State of Origin Predictor cards still live?

Yes — series 1-1, Game 3 decider at Suncorp, Brisbane on 8 July 2026. Both states' cards stay active until the final whistle.

### Which Nathan Cleary card is the scarcest in this set?

TRYumph Black Sig /50 (hobby case hit) and Golden Treasure /80 (retail-only) — the GT is the only one with a redemption attached.
