One Piece OP-17 World's Strongest Warriors Guide

One Piece OP-17 World's Strongest Warriors Guide

OP-17 'World's Strongest Warriors' — English pre-release 21 August 2026 — is the first booster set to give all four Yonko their own Super Parallel in one go. Whitebeard, Shanks, Kaido, and Big Mom have appeared on cards before, but never with the black-and-white manga-panel treatment collectors call Manga Rares. That's the set's entire identity — and it arrives alongside Rocks D. Xebec's first-ever card.

Which four Super Parallels are in OP-17?

Bandai calls them Super Parallels (SP rarity); collectors call them Manga Rares — either way, they're the ones with black-and-white manga-panel art and premium foil finish. All four in OP-17 are first-ever treatments for their characters:

  • OP17-005 — Edward 'Whitebeard' Newgate (Yonko / Rocks Pirates era)
  • OP17-022 — 'Red-Haired' Shanks (Yonko / Elbaf arc)
  • OP17-062 — Kaido of the Beasts (Yonko / Rocks Pirates era) — features guest art by Keisuke Itagaki, creator of Baki the Grappler, name-credited in the card border
  • OP17-112 — Charlotte 'Big Mom' Linlin (Yonko / Rocks Pirates era)

What is the Treasure Rare — and how hard is it to pull?

The apex card is Whitebeard again: OP17-040 is the set's sole Treasure Rare, featuring full-bleed panoramic manga art, a gold foil background, and a die-cut nameplate. Japanese box-opening data puts it at roughly one per case (12 boxes). One card. Two hundred and eighty-eight packs. Good luck.

One quirk for EN collectors: the pre-release on 21 August opens one day before Japan's wide release on 22 August. If you're attending, you're cracking packs earlier than the JP market for once.

What are the Secret Rares — and why does Rocks D. Xebec matter?

OP-17 has three Secret Rares. Two are confirmed: OP17-119 Loki (Prince of Elbaf, the arc's major new character) and OP17-118 Rocks D. Xebec — the captain of the Rocks Pirates, and his first-ever card in the One Piece TCG. Xebec's Secret Rare uses actual Oda manga panel art depicting the God Valley era: the battle where a younger Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom all served under his command. A third Secret Rare exists in the official rarity count; its subject is not yet confirmed.

Xebec is the narrative glue that ties the whole set together. Without him, the Four Emperors are just four separate chase cards. With him, OP-17 tells a complete story.

What else is worth chasing?

The Super Leader Parallel — new to OP-17 — is Monkey D. Luffy (OP17-079), a Black Leader card featuring full holographic prism foil across the entire card face with alternate artwork depicting Luffy in Elbaf giant-clan armour. Based on JP box-opening data it comes in at roughly one per case. Functionally, the card gives all Characters with cost 12 or more [Blocker] — the Elbaf giants deck enabler. It's also the first-ever Super Leader Parallel in One Piece TCG history.
