Scott Boland Cricket Traders: Maiden Overseas Test Fifer

How Did Boland's Five-Wicket Haul Unfold?

He struck immediately on Day 1, bowling Aiden Markram through an inside edge, then had David Bedingham caught behind by Carey off the very next delivery. Two more on Day 2, Marques Ackerman caught behind and Ryan Rickelton taken by a superb one-handed slip catch from Renshaw, left South Africa at 92/5.

South Africa counter-attacked through a career-best 179 from Bavuma, 82 from Harmer, and 85 from Jansen. Bavuma and Harmer added 183 for the eighth wicket, a South Africa Test record for that partnership. Boland's fifth came post-lunch on Day 3, Jansen caught by Travis Head, completing the 5/81 before South Africa declared at 425/9. Australia reached stumps at 3/1, trailing by 422, with Days 4 and 5 to play.

Which Scott Boland Cards Are in the 2025-26 TGI Cricket Traders Set?

Three confirmed cards across the standard 2025-26 TGI Cricket Traders product (not the Luxe).

The ASW09 /148 Authentic Series Signature White is the pick for Test collectors: hand-signed in his Melbourne Stars kit, serial-numbered to 148. Only 12 players signed for the auto set, and Boland and Nathan Lyon are the only two Test specialists among them.

• Base #001 (Australia): first card alphabetically in the 153-card set, the cleanest entry point
• IS16/36 International Series: unnumbered insert, pulls at 1 per 10 retail packs
• ASW09 /148 Authentic Series Signature White: hand-signed auto in his Melbourne Stars kit, serial-numbered to 148

Why Does the IS16 Stand Out Among Pace Bowler Cards?

In the 36-card International Series, Travis Head fills five slots and Steve Smith four, including IS19 (covered in our 17 October article on the same set). Among men's pace bowlers, only Mitchell Starc at IS09 and Boland at IS16 appear at all. One card out of 36 is meaningful scarcity from a checklist standpoint, with or without a serial number.

The IS Gold parallel (/100) is a Luxe exclusive and sits outside the standard retail product. For collectors opening retail packs, the unnumbered IS16 is the target. Snap a photo of any IS16 you pull to log it in CardLoft.

What Should Collectors Watch for Next?

The 2026-27 TGI Cricket Traders Luxe releases 1 November 2026, with Boland expected in the International Series insert, but no checklist has been published yet. His 2025-26 cards capture a career collecting momentum: Boland carries Gulidjan heritage and is one of a small number of Indigenous Australians to represent Australia at Test level, he took the first Test hat-trick by an Indigenous Australian (July 2025, vs West Indies), and this Gqeberha fifer is his maiden one overseas.

The 3rd Test moves to Cape Town. Australia lead the series 1-0, and two days still remain at Gqeberha.
