Terms of Service

Effective: 1 August 2026

CardLoft (“CardLoft”, “we”, “us”) is a web application for identifying, valuing, organising, and trading collectible trading cards, operated by Matthew Barnes in Australia. By using CardLoft at cardloft.app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use CardLoft.

Who can use CardLoft

Your content

“Content” means anything you upload or create in CardLoft — card photos, profile and card details, notes, offers, and images generated by tools such as Card Me. You keep ownership of your Content. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, display, and share it as needed to run the features you use (for example, showing a card to members of a group you post it to, or copying a photo to image hosting when you list on eBay). You are responsible for your Content and confirm you have the rights to it.

Acceptable Use Policy

CardLoft is a shared, and in places kid-facing, space. You must not upload, create, post, or share any content, or use CardLoft, in any of the following ways. This applies to card photos and every other image or text you submit.

Content moderation & reporting

We use automated screening (including Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch) on uploaded images and may review, remove, or restrict access to content that we believe breaks these Terms. Card images that our systems flag are removed from view and queued for review. You can also report a card that another member has shared using the Report control on it, or by emailing contact@cardloft.app. We aim to review reports promptly and may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules. Where the law requires it — such as suspected child sexual abuse material — we will report it to the relevant authorities.

Trading between members

Trades and offers are arranged directly between members inside private groups. CardLoft provides the tools but is not a party to your trades, does not verify cards or members beyond the stated features, and is not responsible for the conduct of other members or the outcome of a trade. Card valuations are estimates only, not offers, advice, or guarantees of value.

eBay and third-party services

If you connect eBay, your listings are created in your own eBay account and are also governed by eBay’s terms. See the eBay section of our Privacy Policy for how that data is handled. CardLoft is not the seller.

Suspension & termination

You may stop using CardLoft at any time and can request deletion of your account via the delete-account page. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or to protect members or the service.

Disclaimers & liability

CardLoft is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from trades between members, third-party services, or content posted by users. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
