How the value check works

  1. Photograph your card. Snap or upload a clear, front-on photo. No typing, no catalogue lookups.
  2. We identify it. CardLoft reads the set, player, card number and any parallel from the photo.
  3. See what it's worth. CardLoft prices it against the live market and shows the range in your currency.

Asking prices vs what cards sell for

Most card prices you'll find online are asking prices: what sellers hope to get. Cards usually sell for less, so CardLoft starts from current asking prices and adjusts down to what the card is likely to sell for. Every check gets the same valuation, with or without an account. Create a free account to save your cards, track your collection and value up to 400 cards a day.

Which cards can CardLoft value?

The check is built for Australian cards first, which is where most card apps fall short. These are the categories it handles:

  • AFL: Select Footy Stars, Supremacy, Eminence, Seamless and Optimum, plus vintage Scanlens and Teamcoach.
  • NRL: Select League Heroes and the TLA years before it (Traders, Elite, Titanium), plus vintage rugby league.
  • Cricket: Test, ODI and Big Bash issues, back through the vintage era.
  • Football (soccer): A-League, Premier League, World Cup and the other major leagues, modern and vintage.
  • Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh!, including the modern rarity tiers and foil treatments.
  • NBA, NFL, F1 and most other cards with an active market.

From one photo it reads the set, the player or card name, the card number and the parallel, then prices that exact version rather than the base card.

Prices in your currency

Most card scanner apps price everything from the United States, which misses the AFL, NRL and Australian cards that barely trade there. CardLoft prices each card against the live market it actually trades in, then shows the value in your own currency. It is detected automatically: US dollars in the US, pounds in the UK, euros in the rest of Europe and Australian dollars everywhere else. You can change it any time in Settings.

Does CardLoft work on Android?

Can I check card values without installing an app?

Yes. Open cardloft.app/value-card in any browser, on a phone or a computer, and photograph or upload your card. CardLoft identifies it and shows what it's worth in seconds. You don't need to install anything or create an account, and you can value 3 cards a day for free.

Does CardLoft work in Australia and show prices in AUD?

Yes. CardLoft is built in Australia and values cards in Australian dollars, priced against the Australian card market, including the local AFL, NRL and cricket sets most US apps miss. Visitors in the US, UK and Europe see their own currency, and you can change it in Settings.

Which cards can CardLoft scan?

Almost any trading card with a market. CardLoft is built for AFL, NRL, cricket and soccer cards first, from new releases back to vintage Scanlens and Teamcoach, and also scans Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, NBA, NFL and F1 cards. From one photo it reads the set, player, card number and parallel, raw or graded.

How accurate are CardLoft's values?

They're a guide to what a card would sell for, not a guaranteed price. Most values start from current asking prices for that exact card and parallel, including Australian shop prices we refresh nightly, adjusted down because cards sell for less than they're listed at. In your collection, two or more recent sales of a card replace that estimate.
