Which Shane Warne cards are rookie cards?

Warne's rookies come from the 1993-94 Futera international cricket set, after his Test debut in January 1992. Two cards in it are sold as rookies:

  • 1993-94 Futera #56, from The Ashes subset.
  • 1993-94 Futera #123, from the Freshman Series.

No grading company settles which of the two is "the" rookie, and sellers list both that way. Futera cards from 1994-95 onwards, including the 1996 Futera Elite and World Cup sets, aren't rookies, though they're the Warne cards you're most likely to find in a 1990s collection.

What is the most valuable Shane Warne card?

In our data, the top Warne sales were his 1993-94 Futera rookies, at A$296.21 to A$504.19, including a pair graded BGS 9. Signed cards come next: three signed Warne cards sold for A$56.17 to A$286.90, with a numbered ACB Platinum card at the top. Warne died in March 2022, so no new signed cards will be made.

Graded Warne rookies are listed online for thousands of dollars. Those are asking prices, and we found no record of one selling at that level.

How have Shane Warne card prices changed?

We can't say yet. CardLoft has been recording Warne sales only since October 2026, and we found no auction-house record of earlier Warne card sales to compare against. What the current sales do show is a wide gap between a common Futera card, which sells for a few dollars, and a rookie or signed card, which sells for hundreds.

Does grading matter for Shane Warne cards?

For the 1993-94 rookies and the signed cards, it can. The top sale in our data was a graded pair, and a high grade separates a rookie from the many worn copies. For the 1996 Futera Elite base and insert cards, grading usually costs more than the card sells for: most sold for under A$20 raw.

For any graded Warne card, check the certificate number with the grading company and the slab with the fake graded slab guide. For signed cards, buy from sellers with a track record; see the safe trading guide.

How do I check what my Shane Warne card is worth?

Photograph the front of the card and CardLoft identifies it, including the set and year, and values it, free. Keep the card number in focus: a 1993-94 Futera #56 rookie and a later Futera Warne look alike and sell for very different money.
